This particular river is located just past the Drystane ruins on the way to Loch Skeen. Loch Skeen is the highest large, natural upland loch in the Southern Uplands, sitting at over 500m above sea level. It's clear, unpolluted water flows down through this river and create the waterfall known as The Grey Mare's Tail.
